Associative Learning in Youth with and without Misophonia

Misophonia is a condition characterized by intense physiological and emotional reactions to sounds that lead to compensatory behavioral responses (e.g., avoidance). Different learning processes are believed to play a key role in the etiology and treatment of misophonia, but there have been no studies evaluating those processes in youth with misophonia. The goal of this study is to evaluate learning in children and adolescents with and without misophonia so that treatments can be tailored to optimize therapeutic learning and improve treatment outcomes.
