Research Interests
My research interests focus on the cognitive and behavioral mechanisms underlying anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Specifically, I am interested in cognitive and meta-cognitive phenomena that underlie extinction learning processes. My hope is to further our understanding of these processes, and thereby improve outcomes for currently-available evidence-based treatments.
I am also interested in the occurrence of dissociative symptoms for individuals with anxiety-related disorders. Overall, my hope is to develop an understanding for why, when, and how dissociative phenomena manifest when individuals are feeling anxious, and if and how these experiences impact symptom severity, impairment, and responses to psychopharmacological and cognitive-behavioral treatments.
